Prepare the COE and visa stage
After admission, the accepting school will in many cases act as your proxy for the Certificate of Eligibility (COE) application before you apply for the visa.

Japan student visa
Prepare the Certificate of Eligibility and visa stage after admission.
Japan’s official guidance says that an international student or their proxy first applies for a Certificate of Eligibility (COE) in Japan. In many cases, the accepting school acts as the proxy. Once the COE is issued, the student applies for the visa through the Japanese embassy or consulate in their country or place of residence.
